SYNOPSIS
The isle of man, known for its stunning natural landscapes, unspoiled beaches and mile long coastlines. However the island has become more and more under threat from rising erosion and pollution levels that the has become a global problem. This documentary looks at how the Isle of Man is facing this problem, through government strategies, teaching, and through local own initiative. All to save our coats.
ABOUT
The documentary is centered around the Isle of man an island in the Irish sea located between England and Ireland. This documentary looks at the big problems this small island faces with erosion, weathering and pollution levels battering there extensive coastline.
The Director
Laura Griffiths is a new documentary creator, with "our coasts" being Laura's first major independent project. Laura is a local of the isle of man and has lived here for all her life. When creating this documentary she was able to access knowledge of hidden location, ancient histories, and every day life to create this documentary.
GET INVOLVED
Every beach faces the problem of litter from plastic bottles to lollipop sticks, however with your help we can try to make a difference to all coastlines. Through the hard work of volunteers like the beach buddies the Isle of man were able to achieve UNESCO status as UNESCO world biosphere region.
By volunteering at local beach cleans or even organizing your own events we can try to follow the islands example by making our coastlines a cleaner place for the future
